…but that hasn’t quite come to fruition. Why? A variety of reasons really. Not happy with the scheme or it’s execution were among the top because if I am going to dive off that cliff, I want to be 100% I like the end result.
But if I have to be honest with myself, the biggest reason is excitement. Or lack there of.
Myself and two friends have decided to make the trek to St. Louis this year for Warmachine Weekend!
So you know that that means: PAINTING SPREEEEEEE!
I’ve chronicled last time what my new Menoth paint scheme will be, now it’s time to get to the nitty-gritty. With my recent move winding down, I’ll have more time to devote back to painting. But this post really isn’t about painting, it’s about the lists I’ll be bringing and why.
So I decided to stop putting it off and just dive back into Menoth. It’s been like 6 months at least since I’ve seriously touched a Menoth model (painting wise, I’ve been playing them this whole time), since I decided at the start of 2014 that I would indeed repaint and rebase them. Hence why updates on this site have been fairly few as compared to other years.
A little crazy sure, but I came to the realization that I just hate my current scheme. After staring at them on table and in countless pics, I just can’t take them anymore. They look so…unfinished. Which is frustrating as I know how much time I’ve spent even getting them to their current state. And I’m just tired of painting gold. For as much as I’ve painted it, I still can’t get it to look good enough.
Welp, I think I may finally be giving up the ghost on Skorne. I’ve already mused about how I don’t enjoy painting them, and since painting is arguably my favorite part of the hobby, I felt I should just stop fighting it.
So back to my Menites I go! First is a caster I’ve had on my desk primed for a long while. He still has a lot of details to go, but the bulk is there. I’m pretty happy with the quality of the paint job on him so far, which is something I feel lacking from of lot of my later crop of painted Menoth…may need to fix that soon…
Lamentations of the Suffering (non-Magical ranged attacks automatically miss when he is camping a focus)
Flesh is Weak (RNG 8 POW 12 AOE 4 Models hit cannot Run or charge?)
Enemy Models in CTRL suffer -2DEF.
When an enemy model in CTRL is boxed by a ranged or melee attack, RFP that model. Place a 4″ AoE on the model boxed and every enemy model under the template takes a POW12 fire damage roll.
Very good actually. His feat is amazing. Tons of upkeeps (two of which are SELF), so watch out for Purification, although Lamentation can out right stop that. With all the RFP he brings, he’ll be an easy one to drop on certain match-ups. Death March is an amazing spell anyway and is even more amazing in Protectorate. I’ve already got a couple of list ideas brewing in the noggin.
