The battlegroup is finally competed and properly based! I’m really glad I decided to add grass, it adds a lot of character I think.
Not much to say really, other than I AM SO FRIGGIN EXCITED to start playing Protectorate of Menoth. This paint job has really grown on me since my previous reservations and I’m sure it’ll look even better on the table. Next Thursday can’t come soon enough. May victory rain down upon me and maces and fire rain down upon my opponents.
It’s no secret that I plan to run an eKreoss theme force,it’s been what I’ve wanted to do from the start with my Menite army. Knights, giant robots, and crazy girls…swoon!
But the eKreoss model leaves me a little cold. Maybe it’s the size or proportions, I’m not sure. You look at his art and you can’t help but think “what a badass.” The fluff goes on about how impressive he is, but then he’s this tiny model on the table :/
So back to the art of eKreoss as my inspiration. To me it looked like he was dressed in something more akin to Bastion armor rather than normal Exemplar armor, and since I have been painting Cinerators, I got to thinking about a conversion to make a more “epic” epic Kreoss.
After much contemplating on a scheme, I just decide to jump right in. I went with a send up of a previous attempt (my first one in fact) and to be completely honest I was not sold on it initially. But I soldiered on.
Here at about 90-ish% done, I am glad I did. I think it looks pretty great.
Special Note: Thanks to PP forum user Taranos for putting the image through Photoshop to bring it closer to what it actually looks like.
Taking a break from Iron Fang Pikemen and Kayazy, and looking forward to beyond my wedding, I decided to try out the Menoth color scheme I’ve had in my head for so long. I’m not sure how I feel about it…Obviously he isn’t done, but the general idea is there.
More pics and thoughts after the jump…
